Each building on Highgrove Farm has a previous life and story all its own, and The Chapel is no different. The story begins with the knowledge that the owners of Highgrove Farm are into recycling and reuse of all structures and materials. The Chapel began with the center high vaulted section of the roof. This portion came from a parcel of property at Lowndes County High School on Norman Drive. It was the roof system from an open air pavilion. After the removal of this portion, it was moved to the farm where the foundation and columns were secured in concrete. The columns would raise this roof structure to a much higher position, and the side shelters were constructed in a manor to give the Chapel a barn look as well as a Chapel. The beautiful round top windows are 114 years old and came from a Railroad Terminal on Rice Rail Yard in Waycross, Ga. The 5 beautiful church lights that illuminate the Chapel came from a very old and established church located in Valdosta, Ga. These lights have been blessed and sanctified by lighting 82 years of Gods word being spoken in each sermon. We hope the beauty of The Chapel at Highgrove Farm and its dedication to the holy bond of marriage between a man and a woman, will surely bless your marriage. New for 2018, we added ground lighting around the outside of The Chapel. (Note: The seating in the Chapel is 280 comfortably)
